How to Apply

 

Pierce College welcomes your application as an international student. Admissibility is determined by assessing a student's potential for success at Pierce College. The assessment is based on the application documents presented in a timely manner by the student.

Note: Since all forms require original signatures, emails, faxes and photocopies are not accepted. All forms and supporting documents must be mailed to the address below.

Official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score must be sent directly from ETS to Los Angeles Pierce College. The minimum score is 450 paper based, 133 computer based or 45 internet based. This requirement is waived if you are from a country that uses English as the primary language in its educational system.

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) scores of 4.5 or higher are now accepted. Click here for IELTS test information

STEP Eiken is also accepted.  Minimum acceptable score on this test is completion of Level 2; Level 1 or Pre-1. For more information on STEP Eiken, please click here.

Submit official transcripts from each high school, college, and any other educational institution in any country that you have attended. The transcript must be a complete record of all courses taken and the grades received in those courses. Diplomas or certificates you have received for completing government or university exams must show the subjects of these exams and the grades received. All records which are not in English must be accompanied by notarized translations. All documents and school records become property of Pierce College and are not returned to the student.

Submit proof of financial support demonstrating that you can meet the minimum estimated tuition and living expenses.  An official bank balance verification letter is required.  The letter must be in English, U.S. dollars and issued within the last six months.  Photocopies, emails, and faxes are not accepted.  Click here for specific costs.

Submit the $35 non-refundable application fee. Fee is accepted by money order or cashier’s check payable to Pierce College and in U.S. dollars. No personal checks or credit cards accepted.

If you are applying from within the U.S., you will need to include copies of your visa, passport information pages, and I-94. Students who already have F1 Status must also provide a copy of their I-20.

Students transferring from another U.S. educational institution please complete and submit the Student Status Verification Form.

Submit three passport size photographs.

  • Fall Semester ............ May 15, 2009

  • Spring Semester ........ October 15, 2008
     

Students already here in the U.S., who do not have an F1 Visa, your deadline is:

  • Fall Semester ............ May 15, 2009

  • Spring Semester ........ October 15, 2008
     

If applying from within the U.S., and already have an F1 Visa, your deadline is:
