- Introduces types of literature. Concentrates on reading for enjoyment,
appreciation, and the development of critical judgment. Emphasizes
written analysis of short stories, poetry, novels, and drama. Required
for English majors. Accpted for credit at UC and CSU (CAN ENGL 4). |

- Specifically designed to deal with the issues of critical thinking and
written expression, it builds on the reading and writing skills developed
