English 79 - concentrates on
improving reading, vocabulary, and grammar skills. It begins development
of writing skills at the sentence level.
English 82 - continues improvement
of reading, vocabulary and grammar skills and expands writing skills to
beginning paragraph structure.
English 84 - includes non-fiction
reading, vocabulary and word formation, more grammar and writing well-organized
paragraphs.
English 85 - emphasizes practice
in writing a variety of paragraphs and reading fiction for comprehension.
English 86 - continues work on
fundamentals of English as a second language with emphasis on writing,
syntax, and reading.
English 87 - includes reading
for comprehension, skimming, scanning techniques, as well as exercises
in critical reading and non-prose reading. It will improve vocabulary
through various word study exercises.
